Ms. Jansenson joined our firm in 1984 and has handled matters involving complex commercial disputes, libel and defamation, employment discrimination, a wide variety of breach of contract issues, and mass toxic tort litigation. She is fluent in Spanish and Hebrew and functioned for two years as the outside general counsel to a corporation owned by Latin Americans, handling corporate, regulatory, employment, and litigation matters in both Spanish and English. Ms. Jansenson has particular expertise in alternative dispute resolution and is a Senior Mediator/Arbitrator for JAMS. She teaches negotiation at New York University School of Law, mediation at Columbia University Law School, and alternative dispute resolution at Brooklyn Law School.
Ms. Jansenson has conducted numerous mediations and arbitrations in a variety of cases, including complex commercial, contract, international, employment, and matrimonial disputes. She also has trained professionals in mediation, negotiation, mediation advocacy, and alternative dispute resolution techniques in the United States and abroad for various corporations and organizations such as the United Nations, the United States Department of Justice, and the United States Information Service. Ms. Jansenson has been appointed by various courts and institutions to help resolve pending litigation and claims. Those appointments include: Mediator, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York and U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York; Special Mediator, Appellate Division, First Judicial Department; Arbitrator, International Chamber of Commerce; Arbitrator, American Arbitration Association; Arbitrator, The Private Adjudication Center, Inc. (affiliated with Duke University School of Law); and Arbitrator, Contract Dispute Resolution Board, City of New York (neutral member).
